INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE BUILDING
University of Texas
Austin, Texas

This new statewide UIL headquarters building was designed in conformance with the new campus master plan developed by Cesar Pelli for the University of Texas at Austin.  The 34,000 sq. ft. terracotta and brick building interprets the character of the main campus while maintaining its own unique quality.  This project consisted of administrative office space, meeting rooms, conference rooms for large groups, a print shop and site development.

Stakeholder involvement was an important part of the development process for this facility, insofar as it was located in a sensitive development area between East Austin and the state university, where the two communities had previously clashed.  Extensive user interviewing was also required in developing a program for the facility.
