This design for Lamar Middle School includes the addition of a fine arts and life skills complex, field-house locker rooms addition, six classroom additions, library expansion, cafeteria and kitchen expansion, performance stage expansion and gym floor replacement. The lighting systems were renovated to new energy efficient lighting throughout. The remaining existing campus and site as programmed by the district received a renovation and code upgrade, including a new HVAC system with a central chiller plant and accompanying electrical distribution.

The scope for the Pearce addition included full architectural services for the total interior demolition of one existing classroom wing, the existing fine arts, administration and the existing girls’ locker room to provide for a new space plan for the classroom wing, an expanded library, administration, and an expanded fine arts facility. Other improvements included a locker room addition, a gymnasium expansion, a five-classroom addition and a better-utilized space design for the science labs. Renovation and code upgrades of the remaining existing campus and site include two new elevators, TDLR accessibility relevant upgrades and a new HVAC system. Services were delivered through a program management entity retained by and representing the owner in programming and management of the design and construction process.
