With degrees in both architecture and interior design, Mr. Kolar specialized in programming, interior architecture, and space planning. He worked extensively on the design of educational facilities for public school districts and for higher education; and in the course of his career, designed and managed facilities for educational clients throughout central and south Texas. Mr. Kolar focused on historic architecture as an area of primary interest. His advocacy for preservation led several public bodies to adaptive reuse projects when demolition was being considered.
